(hollywoodreporter) TIFF: Picture Tree Sells 'Suck Me Shakespeer 2' to Russia, Eastern Europe

The German comedy from director Bora Dagtekin, the sequel to his 2013 hit, has already earned around $35 million at the German box office.
Picture Tree International has inked deals across Eastern Europe for Suck Me Shakespeer 2 (Fack ju Gohte 2), the German-language school-days comedy from Bora Dagtekin, which currently reigns atop the German box office.
Russian distributor Luxor and Hungary's Big Bang, Czech/Slovak distributor Cinemart, Balkan firm 21 Film and Fil Vision, which distributes in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, all pre-bought the sequel before its market premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
In Germany, Suck Me Shakespeer 2 sits at number one on the local box-office charts, with an astounding 4.1 million tickets sold and a total take approaching $35 million. It if keeps up this pace, the sequel will equal, and could even surpass, the first Suck Me Shakespeer, which earned $70 million in Germany alone.
Picture Tree sold the first film to more than 40 territories worldwide.
